INTRODUCTION

INDIESTORY strives to create a new culture and make new history for independent films by systematically distributing Korean independent feature films, short films, animations, and documentaries both within Korean and overseas market. INDIESTORY named from "indie" and "history", proposes to share our unique stories in Korean independent films.

INDIESTORY aims to establish a stable distribution system and to provide an innovative marketing plan for independent films.

INDIESTORY distributes short films and independent feature films armed with the distribution knowhow gained over 15 years since its establishment as well as with the help of a stable network. For independent feature films, INDIESTORY began its distribution business with [Teenage Hooker Became Killing Machine in DeaHakRoh](2000). Since then, INDIESTORY has been opening up multilateral avenues in film distribution, ranging from theatrical releases and community screenings to the secondary market, for many independent feature films including Yellow Flower ](1998), Repatriation ](2003), Five is Too Many ](2005), Sundays in August ](2006), Who' s That Knocking at My Door? ](2007), Bandobi ](2009), Re-encounter ](2010), Dancing Cat ](2011), PADAK ](2012), and The Dinner ](2013). Old Partner ](2008) was a film that gave new hope for independent feature films when the film set a surprising record of attracting 2,950,000 audience members to the theater. Based on such experience, INDIESTORY is endeavoring to expand the profit for independent films by firmly establishing a distribution system for independent feature films through innovative marketing that is solely focused on independent films. INDIESTORY will lead the way in creating ' value' for independent films in the Korean film market.

INDIESTORY strives to provide the quickest way to the overseas market and to serve as an independent film' s platform that introduces outstanding foreign films.

INDIESTORY submits films every year to prestigious international film festivals including Cannes, Berlin, Venice, Sundance, Clermont-Ferrand, Oberhausen, and Annecy. Accordingly, the company takes responsibility and oversees the overall process from shipping the screening print to promoting the films. Also, every year, INDIESTORY participates in international film festivals and film markets in Korea as well as in other countries and actively promotes and sells Korean independent films. In introducing and marketing Korean independent films, INDIESTORY strives to become the primary window for it. [ The King of Pigs ](2012) gained much attention after having been introduced in prominent international film festivals such as Cannes and [ JISEUL ](2012) was introduced to foreign audience through Sundance and Rotterdam Film Festival. Also, by taking on the foreign distribution of the human-rights-themed films that were participated by leading Korean directors starting with [ If You Were Me ](2003) to the latest one titled [ If You Were Me 6 ](2013), INDIESTORY is expanding and diversifying its role as a window that introduces Korean feature films in the overseas market as well as its role as a sales agent. Also, INDIESTORY is doing its best in ' exchanging' independent films by distributing in Korea noteworthy foreign independent films in association with foreign distribution and production companies.

INDIESTORY materializes a reasonable system for independent film production.

INDIESTORY is producing films together with many young filmmakers who make films with the original challenging spirit that is distinctive of independent films.
