Synopsis

 

After a workplace injury leaves her fighting for compensation, Miju’s nights are disturbed by haunting screams from the apartment upstairs. As she grows increasingly desperate to uncover their source, her neighbors’ behavior becomes more unsettling, and her sleepless nights stretch into torment. Then one day, a mysterious comment appears beneath an online post she had written about the screams.

 

Director's Note

 

In an age of noise-cancelling earphones, we choose what to hear while shutting out the rest. But in doing so, are we also silencing the truths we most need to confront? Borrowing the framework of horror, this film metaphorically portrays social disaster, exploring our instinct to turn away from discomfort and the tragic consequences of political apathy.

 

Director's Bio / Filmography
- CHOI Jihye

 

Jihye Choi studied film at Chung-Ang University’s Graduate School of Advanced Imaging Science. Her short film La Vie en Rose(2024) was presented at several international festivals, including Venezia Shorts, Italy and the International Student Film & Video Festival. Her latest work, Noise Cancellation(2025), was screened at the 30th Busan International Film Festival.
