One morning, without understanding why, the mother turns into a cold snowman. The daughter, keeping her mother in the refrigerator, does her best to find a way to turn her back into a human. The mother contemplates whether to melt away warmly, leaving her daughter behind, or to cling to life in the cold of the refrigerator. For the mother and daughter, there is no such thing as a perfect goodbye. Only the least worst form of parting exists.

The movie shows the tough choice a snowman mom has to make: stay cold and not melt, or warm up and disappear. It does this with pictures, not words, to talk about euthanasia. In the film, the snowman mom says she'll come back to her daughter as clouds and rain, showing death is just a part of life's cycle, not something special because it's euthanasia. After her mom is gone, the daughter thinks of her when she sees a water glass on the table, showing their love is forever.
