A man and a woman are seated in a seaside café facing each other. And the traces of their emotions and memories pass by in their mind along the sound of the wave. It is a panorama of a single universe coming and dispersing like a wave. And the last conversation at the cafe is left behind like a remnant of the wave.
Scenes Left Behind is an animation about the complex psychology involved in the moment of an emotional end of a relationship. As if there’s death in life that we need to embrace, there is a moment that we need to admit with silence where an emotion toward a certain person gradually fades away. It is a panorama of a single universe dispersing in a part. I intend to visualize the emotional transition and the organic relationship between the memories during this frustrating moment.
Seung-eon Yi is a film maker working with animation collaged media, based in Seoul. She studied fine arts in Hongik University and did her master in School of the Art Institute of Chicago in film and animation. She mainly describes in poetic form, the emotions and memories that she is deeply involved in, from the personal to the observational.
