The sudden death of her mother brings Myung-eun back home to Jeju Island. There she meets her sister Myung-ju and her sister’s daughter Seung-a, still living at their old house.
The two sisters, who are dissimilar in character, living styles and even fathers go traveling together to find Myung-eun’s father after they bury their mother.
They continuously argue with each other over the course of their journey. And the tension between them escalates as past memories are recalled. They cannot repress their anger for one another any longer and they inevitably come to blows.
After their fight, they begin to understand each other a little more and Myung-eun wants to stop finding her real father. Myung-ju confesses that she had burned a letter sent by Myung-eun’s father—a letter that reveals a secret about Myung-eun’s father.

Director's Note
“Family” is the existence to support family members with unstinted help, assistant and love in mental and physical ways closely. “Family” should be overcome blood ties in a fragmental society in the present.
Two sisters who have dissimilarity in character, life style and even fathers go traveling together. Although the travel for finding younger sister’s father, they make a trip just like strangers. The travel for finding father is far away like a mirage.
In the end of journey, they finally meet not father but the aunt Hyun-a, an old friend of their mother for a long time ago in silence.
