Synopsis
Gun-tae, a young day-dreamer, works at a 'Backdoor Ironsmith', where they illegally make gunnery.
His everyday dream is to become a hero like CHOW Yun-fat in the movies.
One night, Gun-tae happens to carry an old man back to his home. In return, the old man gives Gun-tae a mysterious jar where Gun-tae puts in some snails received from the Machine-gun Granny', a new neighbor in town.
Incredibly, one of the pond snail turns into a girl who crawls out to do daily chores for Gun-tae. Meanwhile, a former thief named Young-baek is stirring up the could-be-peaceful village with his greed causing 'Machine-gun Granny' and the snail people to stand up against him!
At the crucial moment, will Gun-tae be able to follow the legendary footsteps of CHOW Yun-fat?
Director's Note
“CHOW Yun-fat Boy Meets Brownie Girl” is a digital-version adaptation of a Korean traditional tale, “Snail Brownie”. The old fairy tale turns into an unpredictable fantasy joined with punk music by the hand of director NAM Ki-woong (Teenage Hooker Became Killing Machine in DaeHakRoh), who is known for his experiments exploring the untouched possibilities of digital cinema with unique subjects and techniques. This digital fantasy armed with independent spirit dares to give warning to the main-stream film world for a big-time shootout.
