Synopsis
With his wife in coma from a car accident, Ho-sang sleeps with Si-nae, the physician in charge of his wife. Feeling disillusioned with an inappropriate relationship with her co-worker Tae-jin, Si-nae has another relationship with Ho-sang. She, however, replies, “Don’t violate the rules,” when Ho-sang asks if she is interested in him. Although Ho-sang and Si-nae feel lonely, they realize sex between lonely souls cannot become their consolation.

So-kook feels uneasy as his mother goes on a date with an old friend of his deceased father. This senior couple share barbeques at a restaurant beside the railway like young couples, sing songs together at a karaoke and go on a trip with the amount of that they have. Having seen this old friend of his father since So-kook was little, he cannot understand their relationship, and yet he offers some money for their trip. Feeling sorry for his father and unsatisfied with his mother, he has no choice but to change his mind by blessing her intentions.

Curious encounters of these people without feeling passion, depict sometimes severe or bland human relationships that are unpredictable in uncertain lives.
Director's Note
This film is about emotion, reaction and thoughts of 3 people who related the out of print book Sundays in August. I want to express the death and life of ordinary people just around us as well as uncertainties and accidents of life. I also would like to represent unexpectedness and ambiguity in days.
