Se-jin discovers a big and mysterious-looking tunnel near his home. That night, his uncle tells the curious Se-jin of the story of a treasure buried inside the tunnel. The following day, the boy heads out to the tunnel with his sister to find the treasure, and discovers a young man there. Se-jin thinks that the man is looking for the same treasure as he is and, thinking that maybe the man has already found the treasure, he begins to track down the man secretly.
Children are supposed to be innocent. They tend to believe everything people say and act as they feel. But the world in which the children live is not that much idealistic. Most children are exposed to the 'evil' both inside and outside their home. The film expresses the anxiety that come from the process of entering the hole: reaching the hole means innocent children entering the adult-made world, where sin and evil are condensed into. In addition, the contrast between the unstable world and the ideal world of the children's song suggests the paradoxical meaning of the reality and ideal.
